It’s Alright

I got out of bed this morning and walked towards the kitchen to make some coffee. On the way I looked out the window and was completely stopped by the lovely sunrise.

It immediately took me out of the heaviness I had woken up with. I was humorously reminded of the song The End of the World by Skeeter Davis. In this song a woman’s love has left her and she doesn’t understand how the world goes on with sun and happiness.

It is a pretty dark time out there, but there’s so much to remind us of how insignificant we are and how much beauty surrounds us.

I’m extremely fortunate to live in a beautiful part of Colorado, but I grew up in New York. I could still go up on the roof. I could walk to the East River or Hudson River or just go somewhere as marvel at the amazing NY skyline.

It’s not the end of the world. At least not yet.

I took my dog Gracie down a nice trail for her morning walk while Here Comes the Sun played through my brain.
